No accidents. No tickets. No claims. And somehow the renewal notice sitting on your kitchen counter is higher than last year. Again.
You are not imagining it. And you are not alone. Palm Beach County drivers deal with this constantly. Moving here from anywhere else can nearly double your premium overnight. Staying here means watching it climb at every renewal with no explanation that makes sense.
The fix is not to just accept it. The fix is to have someone shop the whole market for you… every time.
A & J Insurance Services is an independent auto insurance agency in Lake Worth Beach. We shop multiple A-rated carriers simultaneously, we answer our own phone, and we re-shop your policy every 6 to 12 months automatically. No phone tree. No forms. One call.

Florida is among the most expensive states in the country for auto insurance. Palm Beach County sits near the top of that list.
It is not random. There are real reasons your rate is what it is.
A real, constant driver of local pricing.
A significant share of uninsured drivers on the road.
Feeds directly into comprehensive pricing.
Vehicle repair costs have climbed steadily.
Factors in your ZIP code, your credit score, and every driver in your household... not just your own record.
That last part is the one that frustrates people most. A rate can move without any ticket or claim on your record. Territory changes. Reinsurance costs shift. A new driver joins the household. The carrier recalculates. And nobody calls to explain it.
As of March 5, 2026, FLOIR reported that the state’s top five auto groups (covering roughly 78% of the market) averaged about an 8% decrease for 2026, following a 7.4% decrease in 2025. Nearly 80% of Florida policyholders are seeing lower rates. The 2022 and 2023 legislative reforms are working their way through.
Whether you are seeing that relief depends on your carrier, your ZIP, and whether anyone is actually shopping your renewal.

Florida is a no-fault state. That means after an accident, your own insurance pays your medical bills first… regardless of who caused it.
The legal minimum to register a vehicle in Florida is:
PIP pays 80% of your medical costs and 60% of lost wages, up to the $10,000 limit, plus a $5,000 death benefit. You must seek initial treatment within 14 days of the accident. The full $10,000 applies only if you have an emergency medical condition. Without that designation, the cap drops to $2,500.
Bodily Injury liability is not required for a standard Florida driver. You can be fully legal on the road with zero BI coverage. Most people do not know that.
Full coverage is not a legal term. It usually refers to liability plus comprehensive and collision. But even a “full coverage” policy can exclude bodily injury liability and uninsured motorist coverage. What your policy covers depends on what you bought… and whether anyone walked you through it at the time.
That last sentence is where a lot of Florida drivers end up in trouble.
By industry estimates, roughly one in five Florida drivers is uninsured. Local reporting puts Palm Beach County in a similar range.
Think about what that means on the road every day.
If an uninsured driver causes an accident and you have no uninsured motorist coverage… your PIP covers your medical bills up to $10,000. After that, you are filing a lawsuit against someone who has no insurance. That is a long road to very little.
UM/UIM (uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage) is what closes that gap. It pays when the at-fault driver cannot. Florida law requires that it be offered with any bodily injury policy… and it can only be declined in writing.
A lot of drivers skip it when they see the price. Some of them find out what that decision cost them.
We are not here to make your coverage decisions for you. We are here to make sure you understand what each coverage does and what you are giving up if you decline it. Then you decide.
We are an independent agency. We do not work for any carrier. We work for you.
When you call us for an auto quote, we go to market across multiple A-rated carriers simultaneously and bring back real options. Not one take-it-or-leave-it number.
The Florida market moves. Carriers reprice. Rates that were competitive last year may not be this year. Most agents place your policy and disappear until renewal. We check in before you need to ask.
The Florida auto market has posted two straight years of average rate decreases (FLOIR, 2025 and 2026). If nobody has re-shopped your policy since before then, your rate may not know that yet. Pick the month below and see where you stand.
Florida law mandates certain discounts. Others are market-standard. None of these are promises. Every carrier and policy is different. But these are real levers worth knowing about.
Drivers 55 and older who complete a state-approved course are entitled to a discount.
Factory-installed ABS, air bags, and anti-theft devices carry mandatory discounts.
Storm damage to a vehicle (flooding, fallen trees, hurricane debris) is covered by comprehensive. Not by your homeowners policy. Not by flood insurance. Not by PIP or liability. If storm season is coming and you are not sure what you have, that is a quick conversation worth having.

A low rate from a carrier that pays claims is a good thing. A low rate from a carrier that fights every claim is a different story entirely.
A Palm Beach County driver put it plainly about one of the low-cost options in this market:
We shop the market to find you the right coverage at a fair price from a carrier we trust to actually pay when something happens. Price matters. So does what is behind it.
If you are currently insured and just want a second opinion on your rate and coverage… call us. There is no charge, no pressure, and no obligation. We will tell you honestly whether you are in a good place or whether we can do better.
We have been doing this in Lake Worth Beach since 2007. We know this market. And we are here when it matters.
