This is not a page about carrier logos or corporate mission statements. This is about two people who got knocked down, rebuilt from scratch, and decided the only way to do business was to do right by people. We have been proving that in Lake Worth since 2007.


How We Got Here

Before there was an insurance agency, there was a mortgage company.

Alfredo owned it. I worked for him. We had built something together, a real business, a team, a livelihood. Then 2006 arrived and the housing market collapsed underneath us. Within 18 to 24 months we had lost our income, our homes and a rental property. Everything we had worked for was gone.

Most people would have gone their separate ways. We did not.

Instead we sat with it… and started paying attention. We watched cars pass by on the street and realized something simple but important. Every single one of those cars needed insurance. Every driver. Every homeowner. Every business owner. It did not matter what the economy was doing. It did not matter what was happening in the market. People always needed to be protected.

That was the moment everything shifted.


Before A & J, I Saw How Insurance Was Being Done Wrong.

In 2007 I made a decision. I was going to get my 2-20 Property and Casualty License and build something new.

I studied 12 hours a day. I passed. And before opening our own doors I spent a brief time working inside another agency to learn the ropes.

What I saw there stayed with me.

Agents chasing commissions. Clients treated like transactions. A culture built around what was best for the producer… not the person sitting across the desk. Nobody was asking what the client actually needed. Nobody was shopping for the best rate. Nobody was calling to check in. It was sell and move on.

I knew immediately that was not who I was going to be. That agency became the blueprint for everything A & J would not do.

So we opened our own doors. Alfredo prepared office space in downtown Lake Worth, we secured our first carrier appointment, and A & J Insurance Services was born in 2007. One location. Two people. A completely different way of doing things.


The Call I Will Never Forget

In early 2025 I got a call from a client who had been with us for over five years.

She was at the hospital. She was older, not in good condition, and frightened. In her rush to get inside she had left her car running in the parking lot with the keys in it. The car had run out of gas. She was calling to ask about roadside assistance coverage.

She did not have it.

I could hear it in her voice. She was worried she would be stuck there for hours. Everyone she knew was at work. She had no one to call.

I did not have to think about it.

I told her I was on my way. I drove to the gas station across from the hospital, bought a gas can, filled it up and took care of her car. She was not stranded. She was not alone.

I never asked her for a review. I never mentioned it on social media. I am only telling you now because it says something about how we see our clients.

She needed help. I was available. I was capable. She was within driving distance.

It was just the right thing to do.

I have been licensed since 2007 and have spent every year since learning the Florida insurance market from the inside out. Hurricanes, flood zones, Citizens policies, roof age restrictions, hard to insure properties… I have seen it all and I know how to navigate it for you.

I answer the phone myself. I work your quote personally. And when something goes wrong I am the one walking you through it.


Alfredo Diaz

Alfredo and I have been working together for over 25 years. He keeps A & J running the way it should. From the moment you call to the day your renewal comes around… Alfredo makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.

He handles the day to day operations, manages the finances, and makes sure every client is taken care of promptly and professionally. If you call and I am already with a client, Alfredo picks up. He knows our clients, he knows our files, and he will always get you to the right person fast.


Both Roberto and Alfredo are fully bilingual in English and Spanish. Because everyone deserves to understand their coverage completely.
